ARTISTIC PATH

The passion of Maria for dancing began at the age of four. Endowed with a precocious talent and with a genuine vocation she finished her Spanish Dance career with a remarkable artistic personality

After years of intense training with big masters of flamenco she reinforce her studies abroad in other styles of dance as classic and contemporary. She studies a master in set design, lighting and theatre costumes, and she works as choreographer in renowned lyric companies teaching, in addition, a wide range of specialized courses of Spanish Dance in important schools abroad.

After obtaining the first prize at the prestigious competition “New Values of Flamenco”, organized by the city council of Madrid, Maria Carrasco founded his own company. She got quickly the recognition from specialized critics and the audience, increasingly large , Which has always seen in Maria her elf and her charisma. Since then she has continued achieving success and awards, like the one regarding the Spanish Cultural Diffusion in the United States or The Silver Antenna, granted by the Spanish Federation of Radio Television, Prize of the Parliamentary Bullfighting Association and Gold Microphone 2008 to the Dance.

Managing her own company she has created, directed and choreographed seven premiered shows. The first was “Al compás de la Palabra”, with lyrics by Antonio Machado, Miguel Hernandez and Lorca. This spectacle establishes the artistic and interpretive basis of this dancer, where the coexistence between flamenco dance and theatre, is presented as a significant nuance..detail. Time after came, “Tiempos Flamencos”, “Carmen”, “Aires Flamencos”, “Embrujo”, “La Cenicienta” y “Al Compás de Lorca”. All of them has led them inside and outside our frontiers and she has toured with her dance countries such as Japan, South Korea, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Cuba, Portugal, Ecuador, among others.
